WHAT IS THE TSCSL?

The TRI-STATE CLUB SOCCER LEAGUE is affiliated with US Club Soccer and is offering U8-U10 Girls' & Boys' competitive league play in the Southwest Ohio, Northern Kentucky, and Southeast Indiana areas beginning with the Fall 2008 Season.  The league was formed in response to members' need to add competitive youth players below U8 and to develop competitive play without the typical state association restrictions on boundaries, playing formats, and club/team rostering.  The TRI-STATE CLUB SOCCER LEAGUE will accept Applications for Membership for the Fall 2008 Season from existing soccer clubs in the geographic area served.  The Executive and League Committees of the TSCSL are composed of various club officials from participating member clubs. WHO IS US CLUB SOCCER?

US Club Soccer is a non-profit organization committed to the support and development of competitive soccer clubs. It is founded on the belief that soccer clubs, which are in the business of elite player development, need an organization of their own to foster growth, address concerns, and sanction and provide programs with a minimum of rules and restrictions.  Policy decisions for the organization are made by a nine member Board of Directors, who must be experienced coaches in member soccer clubs. US Club Soccer is run by an Executive Director and a staff of fifteen. The administrative office is in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, with regional staff in four additional locations.

While US Club Soccer's core membership is competitive clubs, they also sanction training academies, travel leagues, recreational leagues and club in-house programs. US Club Soccer is a National Affiliate member of the United States Soccer Federation (USSF), and as such registers players, and sanctions teams, leagues, tournaments and other soccer programs.

The US Club Soccer Mission Statement is:
"To Create, Develop, and Grow the best USSF sanctioned organization to foster the growth and development of club soccer programs throughout the United States. The result of which will be to improve the level of play of the competitive soccer player, and thereby the U.S. national teams and professional leagues."

BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP

The structure of US Club Soccer affords leagues, clubs, and teams the flexibility to manage programs with minimum oversight and few restrictions.  The TSCSL chose this affiliation so that like-minded clubs and teams can compete at all ages without being subdivided between districts with strict rules on local, regional, and national entities.  The following benefits will aid member clubs in truly developing each player to their highest potential:

  • Encouraged participation amongst multiple USSF member organizations ("dual-carding" capability)
  • Flexible league team rosters to allow varying playing experiences for players (unlimited club guest players)
  • Flexible tournament rosters to allow clubs & teams to recognize a player's highest abilities
  • League schedules that promote festival style competitions within age groups
  • Tournament sanctioning for club hosted events
  • No sanctioning to conduct informal hosting of teams from up to 3 other USClub members
  • US Club Soccer's ID2 program to identify players for inclusion in Regional Training Camps
